I got sworn in today. I am finally and officially a US citizen!
Valentine's day is this Sunday. I will be studying alone for the whole weekend for a test Monday. I guess I'm used to that and I don't really mind as much as I probably should. At any rate, I am not that big on celebrating "love" in general. When I think about it, I haven't had that many memorable moments when it comes to v-day. The only one I actually remember distinctly was when Adam and I exchanged CDs when I was in 6th grade. I gave him a Beck CD and he gave me Spice World, and we swapped on a bench somewhere in chinese school. I know, it's gross. I was way too young, but I felt so old back then, with all that Dawson's Creek nonsense in my head.
Speaking of Dawson's Creek, my favorite (and obvious) famous couple right now -- Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson. They are so cute it makes me sick, in a good way.
Do any of you have interesting vday stories -- good or bad?

ReplyDeleteha, it's funny, steph bought me the ENTIRE dawson's creek set, and i've been watching it. man, pacey was pretty adorable. but dawson? meh. and i think katie holmes was SO cute back then. i want to look just like katie holmes circa late 90's. that show seems so unrealistic now. like jen complaining about high school and how she needed a cigarette even though she had "just quit" (she was only 15!!). and that ridiculous vocabulary. they are the MOST verbose 15 year olds ever. maybe aside from us, lol. i guess it captures the whole angst thing very well. a very excellent/nostalgic series to revisit.
fun valentines day...um last year i went to champaigne with roshan and we visited stan and ravi. we went to a strip club, the silver bullet, to celebrate V day and we got drunk off of cheap beers and had strippers dance for us (me and ro) on the stripway. basically what you do is you lie down on the strip and but dollar bills in your bra and they come and do a little dance on top of you. it was fun!
one year, after making it fairly obvious to stan that while i thought valentines day was dumb it's also kinda cute, i made him a pretty silly card with stuff i cut out from magazines and i even cut out a little cheetah from my cereal bar box (don't ask, organic foods...they have weird decorations on the box) and glued it onto the card. of course stan didn't make me anything. he told me one year that valentines day is just a capitalistic conspiracy. i guess he's right. fuck valentines day
oh and i forgot: congratulations on becoming an American citizen, shan!
